Book Distribution & Sales

After the book is published, authors can choose from a variety of distribution options. These options include distribution through online and physical distribution channels, both within India and abroad.

Online Distribution:
If an author chooses to avail of online distribution services, his/her books can be listed on our online book store, www.dogearsetc.com as also on that of our channel partners within India.

In each of these cases, books will be listed at discount rates of up to 50%. When an order is placed on any one of these websites we will print and ship a copy of the book to the buyer. The author will be reimbursed for all sales at the end of the 6 months after deduction of the discounts (on MRP) and printing costs. Authors must ensure that the price of their book accommodates these discounts to qualify for distribution. Please note that we do not allow the author to ship the book to the buyer even if he/she has extra copies to spare. Books ordered must be printed on demand and dispatched. We insist on this because we have had experiences in the past where the author has been careless about dispatching the book after it is sold.

Since the discount demanded impacts the price of the book, you may choose to list on only certain websites (where the discount is lesser) and not on others. For more details about your listing options, you may write in to us.

These online bookstores can cater to buyers across the world. Authors should do their best to promote their books and ensure that potential readers can access the book listing on these websites. This can be done by prominently displaying the link to the book on the various websites.

For the distribution and sale of eBooks, we have collaborated with other platforms, thus providing yet another layer of e-commerce support. Together with dogearsetc.com, these platforms provide a smooth and convenient way to sell eBooks.

Offline (Physical) Distribution:
We also offer the option of having your books distributed to book stores around the country. To avail of this option, a minimum of 150 copies must be ordered solely for distribution. The author must also pay for the shipping of these books to the central warehouse from where these books are then distributed to book stores across the country. A discount of 50% off the MRP is demanded for this service. At 12-month intervals, an author may ask for a status of the books. At these intervals, the author can also request that his/her books be withdrawn from the stores, if so desired.

Please note that authors will not receive a report of the book stores in which the books are placed. It is important to note that books are placed in book stores at the discretion of the concerned store.

International Distribution:
We have collaborated with an international POD distributor as a result of which we are able to offer POD-based distribution services and make our titles available for buyers in Europe, Australia and North America. This collaboration allows us access to the following booksellers:
